About
Florida Oceanographic Society is a nonprofit founded in 1964. Its Coastal Center on Hutchinson Island in Stuart sits between the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic, with sea turtles, a 750,000-gallon gamefish lagoon, nature trails and daily programs. The center is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The society also runs seagrass and oyster restoration, water-quality monitoring and a volunteer beach cleanup program.
