Bird conservation chapter offering field trips, talks and nature programs at Possum Long Nature Center.
About
Audubon of Martin County was founded in January 1955. It is based at the Possum Long Nature Center, a small urban forest preserve near downtown Stuart. The chapter works to protect birds, wildlife and habitat through education, advocacy and hands-on conservation.
It hosts free field trips, guided birding at stormwater treatment areas such as Lakeside Ranch and C-44, Scrub Jay walks at Jonathan Dickinson State Park and a monthly speaker series. It also runs a juried nature photography contest and nature programs for local schools.
